La proposta, formulata dal sindaco, Salvatore Adduce, è stata accolta da Ottavio Lonigro, Michele De Ruggieri, Francesco Gallo, Alfonso Pondrandolfi, Francesco Saverio Acito, che hanno partecipato all'incontro svoltosi in Municipio.
Nel corso della riunione il sindaco Adduce ha illustrato il percorso che si sta costruendo per arrivare alla candidatura di Matera a Capitale europea della cultura 2019. "La Regione Basilicata, attraverso una delibera di Giunta, ha promosso la nascita di un comitato istituzionale.
