La OLA (Organizzazione Lucana Ambientalista) é venuta a conoscenza – dalla lettura del Bollettino Ufficiale della Regione Basilicata n.4 del 1 febbraio 2011 – che la società “Consorzio Seari srl” ha presentato agli Uffici del Dipartimento Ambiente della Regione Basilicata, al fine del rilascio del parere VIA (Valutazione di Impatto Ambientale) ai sensi della L.R. 47/98, un progetto di “ampliamento dell’impianto di trattamento dei rifiuti rinvenienti dalla raccolta differenziata multimateriale e dei rifiuti industriali per la produzione di Combustile Solido Secondario (CSS). Il progetto prevede l’aggiunta di una linea di trattamento meccanico all’interno dello stabilimento Seari di Atella”. La nuova linea consentirà di produrre il combustibile per gli inceneritori ed i cementifici lucani.

Da quanto sopra esposto la OLA evidenzia come, a parole, la Regione vuole incrementare la raccolta differenziata, nei fatti invece favorisce prima lo smaltimento dei rifiuti “tal quale” nelle discariche e poi la loro termodistruzione presso inceneritori e cementifici, prevedendo la creazione di centri di produzione del combustibile.
