Our common waste collection through a non-virtuous continues to feed a logic based on incineration and landfills.
Landfill which, however, the plan also locates provincial waste in our municipal , Cafaro in place, just beyond the "Madonna della Lauda.
Despite the good intentions of the municipal administration had as its objective the door to door (starting experimental in the center):
...sembra che oggi si siano ravveduti e abbiano deciso di attivare una semplice raccolta multimateriale sull'intero territorio comunale.
The 121.56 tonnes of waste are differentiated from a total of 1698.34 tonnes of municipal waste products, equivalent to 31.13 kg per capita of waste.
The multi-material collection does not allow percentage "acceptable" to separate (among other things, imposed by EU law and national), which leaves much of the waste going, in fact, incineration or landfilling .
The curbside collection or in their homes should remain a goal of zero waste strategy as a priority.

L ' Lucana Environmentalist Organization separate collection in Basilicata :
Basilicata Communes are still far from the targets set by the laws
The Leg. n.22/1997 (called Ronchi Decree) required to achieve 15% collection (RD) by 1999 and 35% by 2003, subsequently extended with the Decree. 152/2006 which was intended to achieve 45% of RD by 2008, 65% by 2012. In this series of extensions, which are justified by the failure to achieve the relative percentages (especially the South), followed by other n.296/2006 Act (Finance Act 2007) which established the highest standards: the achievement of 40% for the RD 2007, 50% for 2009 and 65% for 2011. Waiting in the new Waste Report 2010 ISPRA where you can compare the data of RD with other regions of Italy, the OLA (Organization Lucana Environmentalist) publish an analysis of regional data related to the management system for municipal solid waste ' year 2009 published on BUR (Official Gazette Regional) n.48 of 16/12/2010.
According to the departments in the Basilicata region, the percentage separate collection for the year 2009 stood at 11.52%, with the province of Potenza to 12.57% and 9.74% of the Matera. Out of a total of 131 municipalities are 119 municipalities (92 Potenza and Matera 27) to make the recycling of MSW, with the only two municipalities in Matera, and Montescaglioso Jonico Montalbano, exceeding the 50% rate of RD, only two common Lucan in line with the Finance Act 2007 which provided for the 50% target by 2009. Compared to a regional trend of 11.52% for 2009, Montescaglioso amounted to a percentage of 66.08% (reaching and surpassing the target of 65% by 2011 provided by the Finance Act 2007) and Montalbano Jonico to 59 , 31%. In fact, without the two "common virtuous", the province of Matera would drop to an average of 4.96% of recycling with a regional figure to 8.76%. The two common "Riciclone" shall also comply with the regional plan of wastes of setting targets of 35% from the sixth year after the entry into force of the Decree (February 2003), while the regional plan of power was updated in 2008 the introduction of new parameters collection that went from 35% provided by the Ronchi Decree of 60% provided for by Legislative Decree no. n.152/2006, this action is necessary to reduce the granting of waste in landfills but now it is sterile under-emergency ordinances extending the "tour of rubbish" and the continued provision of such waste at the incinerator and which EDF-Phoenix, as well as regional tenders through project financing to build new incinerators thesis, false use of biomass power stations and cement plants to burn CDR (derived fuel waste).
To this it follows that there are still 12 municipalities that do not Lucania waste separation, 33 municipalities that do not reach even 5% of collection, including those with the black shirt: Tricarico (0.14%), Accettura and Trecchina (0.22%), Valsinni (0.99%), Tursi (1.12%), Grottole (1.27%), Montemilone (1.50%), Policoro (1.63%) , and 25 other municipalities that do not reach the level of 5%.
With a total production amounted to 225,324.73 tons of waste per year throughout the region and production per capita per capita amounted to 382.07 kg, the data in the BUR n. 48 of 16/12/2010 of the table Tv .2 - Separate collection belongs to exhibit - show that the percentages to the production of 25,953.30 tons of waste collection are distributed as follows: 6.65% by wet organic fraction (only the province of Matera), 37% paper and paperboard; 17% glass 10% plastic, 5% of WEEE from multi-material 13%, 6% from metals and wood, with the remaining 6% split for the surroundings textiles, medicines, garden waste e parchi, contenitori TFC, batterie e accumulatori, vernici, inchiostri, adesivi e resine, oli vegetaili, oli minerali, altro, così descritti dalla tabella.
This comparison shows that waste generation in 2009 would be reduced to -1.26%, with about 2,898 t. less waste.
