Oak (UDC): "Law 40, the only landmark to protect the rights of the unborn and woman ".

Prato, October 8, 2010 - "The current debate on Act 40 illuminates the spotlight again on the regulation of assisted reproduction. Yes practice in deciding whether there should be a law regulating the matter fully, or whether we should return to a situation of complete legal vacuum on an issue as sensitive as that of procrezione. The continuous attacks on the Law show the attempt, not even concealed, to make empty the norm. A rule that is indeed the fruit of a parliamentary debate and not just for over ten years and was then approved by a large majority.
In substance, especially regarding the current referral to the Constitutional Court by the Court of Florence on the prohibition of heterologous fertilization (thus prohibiting use of embryos donated by persons outside the pair) essentially we understand it is acceptable to the cultural vision that breaks the link between marital relationship and fertilization. If it exists, then an alleged right to procreation "at any price" or whether our focus should be mainly focused on the interests of the child and the relationship of the two parents.
E 'now known that many research studies have turned their greatest efforts, and economic minds, especially in the direction of artificial insemination, heterologous, unfortunately leaving out the research into the causes of infertility and then the appropriate care, removing so the attention (and investment) to the examination of the causes of the effects, one way to proceed even scientifically wrong, but certainly more profitable, which would be favored by the impairment of the Law 40, or by deregulation of the matter.
During the defense of the Law 40, the attack referendum (failed miserably) of his opponents, has already taken a clear stand in defense of the law and will be mine, and we intend to repeat our commitment to a law that, although improved, is now the only anchor for the protection of rights of the unborn child and woman, as in fact was highlighted by a recent report by the Ministry of Health, which examined the effects of della legge in questi anni.
A novembre verrĂ  organizzato un convegno sul tema con l'On. Santolini e l'On. Binetti, da sempre impegnate socialmente e politicamente per la difesa della famiglia e della vita, per un approfondimento tematico».
